As the upcoming film Marty Supreme—centered around the world of table tennis and starring Timothée Chalamet—generates buzz in both sports and entertainment circles, one notable name is missing from the credits.
French table tennis sensation Félix Lebrun, currently the face of the sport’s European revival, was reportedly approached to appear in the film directed by Josh Safdie. However, despite the lure of sharing the screen with one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, Lebrun chose to decline the offer.
A Relentless Focus on Performance
The reason behind the refusal is simple: a total commitment to his craft. According to reports from RMC Sport, the production invited Lebrun to participate in the filming, which coincided with the intense competition schedule of the late 2025/early 2026 season.
Choosing the table over the big screen, Lebrun preferred to concentrate fully on his training and long-term performance goals. His decision sends a powerful message about the discipline required at the elite level: even when presented with a high-profile media opportunity, the pursuit of sporting excellence remains the ultimate priority. While fans would have loved to see a Lebrun vs. Chalamet rally, Félix’s eyes are firmly fixed on the 2026 World Championships in London.
